Life moves fast.
Your memories can stay.

A few words. A favorite photo. A moment you almost forgot.
MemScape gives your everyday life a place to land,
and a way to find it again.

Make a little room
for today.

Write naturally, add a photo, and give your thoughts a little structure with Markdown.

The details
come along.

Capture place, weather, activity, and what’s playing, when available and with your permission.

Find your way
back.

Search your words, browse by date or tag, and revisit a favorite with a star.

So many ways
to look back.

Follow a thought. Pick a date. See a familiar face.
There’s more than one way into a memory.

Every entry, in order.

Scroll through your days, with your words, photos, tags, and the details you captured.

Your memories.
Your colors.

Family in orange. The outdoors in green.
Give each tag a color that feels like you,
then follow it through your journal.

Make it
your own.

Choose from twelve tag colors. See which colors you already use, and change them whenever you like.

Your life.
Your words.
Your files.

A journal should feel like something you own. Because it is.

MemScape keeps your entries and photos in a folder on your iPhone. Your words are stored in readable JSON files, with your photos alongside them.

No MemScape account to create. No journal service to sign into. Just your journal, on your phone.

A few more things to know

A new home.
For years of you.

Bring your Day One Classic text export and its photos into MemScape. Keep the memories you’ve already collected, and pick up where you left off.

Import leaves your source folder untouched and skips entries already imported.

A few things to know.

What do I need?

MemScape is being developed for iPhone running iOS 26 or later, in portrait orientation.

Where does my journal live?

In MemScape’s Documents/Journal folder on your iPhone. Entries are individual JSON files; photos are JPEG files. You can access the journal through the Files app. Keep your own backup of the folder.

What can I import?

A Day One Classic text-export folder with its referenced photos. This importer is for the Classic text format; it does not import modern Day One JSON or ZIP exports.

Does every entry capture my location and weather?

Context capture depends on your permissions, device support, and service availability. You can write an entry without those details.

Can I download MemScape?

MemScape is in development. A public download and release date haven’t been announced.
